Fruity beers are probably one of the best things about the warm weather. Sometimes it’s hard to choose the best one for the occasion! Well, this summer I recommend starting with Innis & Gunn’s new passionfruit pale ale: Tropic Like it’s Hop.

The beer starts with a bit of passionfruit and hops notes on the nose. Tight bubbles make a nice frothy head that sets the tone for this beer. The first sip has a wonderful fruity taste and a light hop bouquet. For the amount of flavour, this brew drinks nice and easy and is perfect for a hot summer day.

Tropic Like It’s Hop belongs in the sessionable category, as it is a refreshing a punchy number with a beautiful golden hue and all the qualities of an excellent pale ale. Easy drinking yet flavourful and satisfying, the subtle lingering passionfruit flavour will have you looking forward to the next sip (or can.)

The real interesting thing here is the use of oats in the mash, which usually leads to a thicker or richer mouthful. However, the oats are cleverly used to give this beer a satisfying and full finish without drying out your palate or leaving you feeling full. So make sure you pick up a can or two for the next BBQ or beach trip because this fruity number doesn’t disappoint.
