Cannabis concentrates are a popular way in which to digest this herbal substance. In recent
years, there have been even more concentrates on the scene. You can purchase them from
dispensaries or make them right in the comfort of your home. It’s a good idea to learn about the standard types out there and the purposes for each of them. Try out one of these six concentrates in an oil form on its own under your tongue (sublingual) or by cooking/baking it into foods.

List of Cannabis Concentrates

Live Resin

Live resin is created through a unique process of freezing the whole cannabis plant before starting the extraction process. This prevents oxidation and light exposure from impacting the trichomes and terpenes of the plant. Without these effects, they’ll be able to maintain their natural properties. Live resin tends to be more colorful and flavorful than many other concentrates with similar potency because the terpene profile is preserved. The appearance can be highly different between the various products, with some being more viscous and others that look similar to shatter.

Distillate

Distillates are made through an extensive process that involves extraction, separation, and then purification. It starts by removing all the terpenes and cannabinoids. It’s necessary to use pressure, temperature, and other factors to isolate a specific ingredient. This final product has 99 percent purity if it’s made properly. Distillates are heavily concentrated oils that don’t contain any waxes, flavonoids, terpenes, or other compounds commonly found in plants. THC is the more common potent element that you’ll find in this concentrate, though CBD distillates do exist. Distillates are incredibly strong, and as a result, they can make you incredibly high. The consistency is on the watery side, so this tends to be somewhat more complex to deal with than other types.

Rosin

Rosin is a unique cannabis concentrate since you don’t use solvents, and it’s handcrafted.
You have to combine heat and pressure to create rosin by squeezing resinous sap from
trichome-rich leaves or the buds. This one is easier to make at home if you’ve got the right tools, including heat-resistant gloves. With rosin, you can get a range of potency levels. That’s why you must do some research before you get started making or seeking out the concentrate.

Cannabis Diamond

This is created via an extraction process that involves solvents. It’s considered one of the more powerful types of cannabis concentrates. The name is appropriate to the appearance since it does look similar to diamonds. They are almost pure tetrahydrocannabinol acid, which gives them a potential for a significant high. Raw THCA doesn’t get you high – you have to heat it to 220 degrees before it will convert to THC and allow you to get any high. When it’s in sauce form, it becomes a dab at low temperatures using a glass rig.

Shatter

Shatter is considered to be the most popular concentration on the market currently. The name
has to do with the glass-like appearance and consistency of shatter. You can get the best price-to-potency ratios on this compared to other cannabis products. One of the best ways to make shatter is to use butane and hydrocarbon extraction equipment. This is called butane hash oil extraction, and there are slight alternatives to having the official equipment. Before you attempt to make this concentrate, be sure that you research carefully or talk to someone you know and trust who has experience with making it.

Wax

Wax is the easiest to find of the cannabis concentrates. It is also a much less expensive option than the concentrate types above. The name comes from the fact that it has a wax-like consistency. The potency level is typical for cannabis at around 60 to 80 percent THC content, so it’s said to be easier to consume. It’s a variation on butane hash oil with the extraction of cannabinoids in tubes flooded with butane. Resin is separated from the plant material, and then there’s intense heating, condensation, and vacuum purging to get a viscous concentrate that hardens into a wax. You can vape or use a dab rig to smoke it in this form, and you can add it to flower in a joint or bowl. Just be careful when burning at higher temperatures since its vapor can be harsher on your throat.

Try Out Different Cannabis Concentrates

It’s worthwhile to give several types of cannabis concentrates a try. You never know which of them you’ll like the best. Ask your family and friends what they enjoy if you’re stuck on where you’d like to start. You can find a local Florida dispensary with greater ease when you look online.
