With the summer nearly over it’s important to spend some time checking out the beach while you are in Toronto. A city by the Lakeside deserves attention for the summer and if you wanted to take some of your time and head down to the beach here are some of the best locations that you should consider during your time in the city:

Sunnyside Beach: Sunnyside Beach is an area that you can find just south of High Park. As one of the most famous beaches in Toronto, the large bathing pavilion here is a great place to hang or even enjoy a snack by the lakeside. The water here isn’t always the clearest but the waterfront trail and the beach can be absolutely beautiful.

Woodbine Beach: This is one of the most popular beaches throughout the city and its known as being one of the best locations for Canada Day and Victoria Day. Although the sands here may not be quite as soft as they are on some of the islands, this is where you can go for some of the best volleyball courts in the city.

Cherry Beach: This beach can be found in the Port lands at the foot of Cherry Street. There are a number of food trucks that often set up here and this can be a fun spot to head on a weekday as parking can fill up quickly on the weekends.

Hanlan’s Point Beach: If you are interested in a more daring experience during your time in Toronto, you could check out this clothing optional beach which can be found on the westernmost tip near the Toronto Islands. It’s one of only two nude beaches that you can find in Canada and its very well maintained to be rock free.
