Peanut Butter Pie

Peanut butter comes from an 1884 patent issued to Marcellus Gilmore Edson of Montreal, Canada. Today, 94% of all Canadians have peanuts or peanut butter in their home. After a visit to Georgia, the largest producer of peanuts, and a taste of some decadent peanut butter pie after a barbeque, we’ve come up with our own recipe.

1 8oz package cream cheese
1 cup whipped cream
1/2 cup creamy of chunky peanut butter
1/4 cup granulated sugar
19″ graham cracker pie crust
1/4 cup peanuts
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate

Mix cream cheese, 1/2 cup whipped cream, peanut butter and sugar together until smoothly blended. Melt 1/4 cup chocolate (add milk or water to dilute). Pour chocolate onto pie crust. Pour mixture over chocolate. Melt remaining chocolate over top of mixture. Spread remaining whipped cream. Sprinkle peanuts. Enjoy.
