Grocery Innovations Canada (GIC) is the premier, must-attend business-to-business (B2B) grocery and specialty food show of the year, and will be holding their yearly conference and exhibition from Tuesday October 23rd – Wednesday October 24th at the Toronto Congress Centre.

This year’s speakers include: Natalie Green, Google Canada – Head of Industry for Food, Beverages and Restaurants; David Marcotte, Kantar Consulting – Omni-Channel Retail Expert; Leah McHugh, Amazon – Operations Expert; Gary Saarenvirta, A.I. Expert – Daisy Intelligence; Sarah Seale, cannabis industry management resource firm – CMR North; Josh Ray, Online Grocery Specialist – ShopHero, and many more. Each are partaking in a series of highly informative speaking and workshop events that relate to current trends in the grocery and retail industries.

This year, with over 110,000-sq.ft. of exhibition floor space, 5,100 attendees and over 340 exhibitors from categories such as food, cannabis, garden, general merchandise, equipment, technology, foodservice, financial and insurance, GIC will be the ultimate hub for trend spotting, brand exposure, networking, education and business opportunities.

Attendees will be among the first to explore all that is new in grocery – front end to back end – on display in The New Product Showcase. Highlighting the most innovative trends in grocery, these products will be in the running to be crowned ‘Top 10 in Grocery’ live at GIC. The Top 10 in Grocery will be celebrated at the Tuesday evening event, along with the Best Booth winners and the Best in Merchandising at the Merchandising Excellence Awards hosted by Pete Luckett.

On Wednesday evening, GIC will draw to a close with the highly anticipated 2018 Canadian Independent Grocer of the Year Awards, honouring this year’s best independent grocery retailers across the country, hosted by President and CEO of CFIG, Tom Barlow and ET Canada host, Sangita Patel.
