In 2019, it’s all about the ‘gram. With #wanderlust and travel inspiration in every nook and cranny of Instagram, choosing a vacation destination that’s both interesting and aesthetically-pleasing is a top priority. Each of the cities below is filled with photo ops that will ensure you’re able to up your social media game while enjoying a little bit of rest. Here are the 6 Most Instagrammable Cities in 2019

1. Bruges, Belgium

Like something out of a medieval fairytale, Bruges is a small town in Belgium, famous for its cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and series of canals.

As soon as you arrive in this quaint village, located less than an hour and a half from Brussels, you’ll find yourself immersed in another world.

The best part? There are Instagrammable photo ops around every corner. Storybook bridges, a medieval bell tower, and a public market are just a few of the obvious choices.

2. Cartagena, Colombia

Cartagena is the definition of vibrant, so if you’re looking to spice up your feed with a major pop of colour, look no further than this Colombian city.

Vivid canary yellow and terracotta hues light up the town, which is accented by plenty of trailing greenery and fresh flowers.

Plus, there are ocean views as far as the eye can see, providing the perfect option for a beach selfie!

3. New York City, USA

It probably won’t come as a surprise that the Big Apple is one of the most Instagrammed cities in the entire world. From Times Square and Central Park to the Brooklyn Bridge and SoHo, many spots make for a great Instagram pic.

More than tourist attractions, New York also boasts some of the most Instagram-worthy hotels, restaurants, and cafes (for a dose of millennial pink, be sure to snap a photo in front of Pietro Nolita – pictured above), meaning the entire city is a giant Instagram playground.

4. Maldives

Though this isn’t a city, the Maldives have exploded in popularity as a travel and honeymoon destination in recent years, mostly because of Instagram.

Crystal clear waters, straw huts over the ocean, and private slides, hammocks, and pools are just a few of the Instagrammable aspects of this Indian Ocean paradise.

No matter where you are on the island, you’re sure to get some beautiful photos of the tropics.

5. Kyoto, Japan

Perhaps the most Instagrammable spot in the entire country, Kyoto, Japan, is located on the island of Honshu. The city is known for its historical Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines and incredible gardens.

It even has a bamboo forest that is the definition of Instagram-worthy.

Of course, in the spring, Kyoto is also famous for its cherry blossom filled streets that are just as breathtaking in person as they are on the ‘gram.

Kyoto. Namikawa Cloisonné Museum. House and Garden, 1894. Namikawa Yasuyuki, 1845-1927, was the premier cloisonné artist active in this period. You can see his work on display, but the real treat is the garden designed by Ogawa Jihei VI, also known as Ueji, considered to be a genius in his use of water and stone. The Namikawa house is the first private residence in Kyoto to use water drawn from Lake Biwa. Heian Shrine’s grand garden employs similar motifs, albeit on a much larger scale. 6. Santorini, Greece

Turquoise waters, white buildings with blue rooftops, private infinity pools, and the radiant sunset all make Santorini pure heaven – whether you’re an Instagram addict or not.
